After careful observation of the work of my predecessors, I decide to define volume as the void-full interface, i.e., the interlaced surfaces that in an imaginary way separate the compact material volume - extraordinarily worked out by Chillida - from the contained void, especially as understood intuitively by Oteiza, though it was investigated by both of them. Gargallo followed a similar path, and his work is justly appreciated.

Oriental thought, which I have tried to understand since my youth, makes me perceive solid and void as the same thing. This is why I discover in the materialization of the borderline between them the highest representation of volume.
