Part of the works about three-dimensional modularity which I developed years ago (65-72), together with other works from that time in which I included function together with the traditional values recognized in all works of art.

These are two separate pieces which can be fitted together in numerous ways according to each individual’s whims and imagination

Developed in 2004, the wooden base-link considerably en hances its combinatory possibilities (functions).

They meet my self-imposed requirement of what I conceive as the work of an artist, i.e., to create artworks that encourage and enable others to make their own con tribution to art, a faculty that I believe belongs to everyone, although in many cases - too many in my view - that faculty rarely manages to manifest itself.

The two forms that make up this piece constitute the essence of MALE and FEMALE and are my contribution to a new model of meaning which offers an alternative to the old simplistic symbols which have bedevilled artistic expression right up to the present day.

So I propose a reflection and other ways, I think, more in consonance with today’s reality.
